Avoid these Holiday Movies like the Plague! | BuzzChomp

It’s that time of year again and I can’t believe it’s here, but Holiday movies are upon us. Every year it seems like more and more movies hold themselves until this very section of the year! With so many amazing movies upon us, this year lets avoid these holiday movies like the plague!

I absolutely love the movies, but I’m not into the hype around the “big blockbuster” films of the season. They are all just sequels and reboots. Can we move past these films and get some original films and break away from the same old movies? It doesn’t appear so, but a girl can dream. That’s why we suggest to avoid these Holiday movies like the plague. Make sure you watch our full video on the BuzzChomp YouTube channel!

The four films I spotlight here are definitely going to be controversial, except for the first one which just came out in theaters and that is Terminator: Dark Fate. I’m so surprised that they made another terminator film especially after the Emilia Clark Terminator bombed so hard. This new one reunites Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Sarah Connor didn’t stop the rise of the machines and now a new terminator is coming and it Sarah needs to protect a new woman and her family. Besides a new terminator, there is an enhanced woman who comes to protect Sarah as well as reunite her with Arnold’s Terminator.

Let’s face it, there is no need for another Terminator and it completely bombed at the box office proving that we don’t need to reinvent, reboot, and add anymore sequels to this film franchise. It’s time to move on from those films and open up for other films with strong female leads! Just another holiday movie bust!

Let me tease one other film from our video and that is Charlie’s Angels. The part that kills me about this film is that it’s written, directed, as well as acted in by Elizabeth Banks. I love Elizabeth Banks and always want to support female filmmakers, but Charlie’s Angels? Really? Why? Not to mention Kristen Stewart is basically playing the “sexy” angel. A big no to that. Could there not have been a different spy style film that Elizabeth wrote and directed. One that did not need the name or the supposed clout around Charlie’s Angels.

The last two, I know is where the backlash will come in: Jumanji: The Next Level and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. I can’t think of a reason why there is a sequel to Jumanji. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one and think they’re just milking The Rock and Kevin Hart.

As for Star Wars, I’ve seen the other films and I do want to see how this part of the franchise ends. I already know that you’ll have your fanboys and fangirls that are going to love the film, scream how it’s so amazing, and honestly in the end it’s the same structure and formula as the other ones. With Disney owning Star Wars, there are so many more films to come, but I just don’t think their necessary.

I love movies and love this time of year when so many amazing films get dropped. It’s come to a point where I’m over the sequels and over the reboots. I’m itching for original films that inspire all of us and leave me wanting more. What do you think of our list? Do you agree or disagree! Leave us your comments.
