Does young Princess Leia even need saving? Not from Obi-Wan Kenobi, who’s a washed up butcher named Ben. We need a Jedi, because Reva and the Grand Inquisitor are out for blood. Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1 is all drama.
Save Princess Leia, as if she needs saving. Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1 is eerily similar to The Mandalorian, as Obi-Wan comes out of exile, out of hiding, to save young Princess Leia and ultimately bring her back home. She’s 10 years old and he’s spying on young Luke. Enter the Grand Inquisitor and his Jedi turned Dark Side Inquisitors.

One Inquisitor in particular, Reva, is out to catch Obi-Wan Kenobi, as opposed to simply killing all Jedi. The Empire reigns supreme and Reva sets a trap with the help of Flee, who’s playing a mercenary named Vect. They capture young Princess Leia and now Obi-Wan must go save her. Find your lightsaber, remember the Jedi code, and go all Star Wars on us please. No more Ben. We want some action in Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1!

Taking place ten years after Star Wars Episode 3 is cool. Filling in the gaps to Obi-Wan Kenobi’s story is also cool, along with a pretty bad ass young Princess Leia. It’s too bad we already watched a loner come out of exile to save a child and return him home. Fortunately this is Star Wars, where recycling old plots is the expectation.
We need lightsaber battles and force powers. I want the light versus the dark and a hero worth watching. Perhaps Obi-Wan Kenobi season 1 will deliver, but right now old Ben is a sorry sack of a hero and the Inquisitors are kind of awesome.
