You may think you know, but you have no idea where His Dark Materials season 2 will take us. New worlds, old magic, and an enemy no one expected.
The great thing about His Dark Materials is that its not abiding by traditional rules. Season one pulled from every book in the series, not just the first. That means season two will be full of even more surprises! I have not read a page of this series, so my predictions are genuine. Check out my full season 2 predictions video for every prognostication, or keep reading for my boldest theories.
A new enemy must emerge in season two of His Dark Materials. The Magisterium’s power feels dead and gone, plus Lyra has left their world. Marisa no longer holds power and Lord Asriel is being chased by Lyra, so that hardly makes him an enemy. We only have one villain, Lord Boreal, but his motivations are murky at best. A new enemy will rise up! Lyra will also kill her father, with the help of Lee who chases her through the energy bridge. The witches must ensure her protection, for some reason we do not yet understand.

Lyra and Will ultimately team up, but not before we discover Will’s father to be the true villain of this story. Both dads are evil. Its fitting for a series predicated on empowering its women. The alethiometer’s true power will also get unlocked, allowing Lyra to become the superhero everyone believes her to be. But what is she saving the world from? We will find out in season two of His Dark Materials.
