Master Chief must lead a rebellion as Dr. Halsey turns everyone against him and Makee. She appears to have stolen the artifact as part of the Covenant offensive! Her love with John was real, but so is the betrayal in Halo season 1.
A major Covenant offensive has the aliens annihilating multiple human outposts in Halo season 1, but Master Chief must lead a rebellion for different reasons. His love story with Makee seemed pretty real, but Dr. Halsey destroyed it. She turned her Spartans against Master Chief and Makee and the put them on the run. Her evil corrupted everything! Makee in turn touches the artifact and I think she’s going to steal the artifact and go back to the Covenant. Her humanity was again crushed. At least Cortana is on Master Chief’s side. He’s now rogue, on the run from everyone including his Spartans. Episode 8 of Halo the series was wild.

The love was real, but what is Makee’s true motivation? She and Master Chief John are unique in their ability to activate these alien keystone relics, so will they run away together or save everyone? Kwan is now equally as important. Will they ultimately work together, or die as one? They are all Blessed Ones. What do they do and why is this such a mystery to our humans? Plus, the only strong humans are evil humans. No one else can take on the aliens.

By diverging from the video games, Halo season 1 has opened the story up completely. Our lone survivor Kwan has already stolen Master Chief to the resistance, sort of, but the human government needs them because the Covenant is too strong otherwise. Also, cloning.
