The Offer Episode 4 is here and it’s all about fact or fiction. This episode is jammed with a lot of details and some great moments that truly did happen. There is also of course some fabrications.
The Offer Episode 4 is here and we’re breaking down fact or fiction. Episode 4 is my favorite episode so far because of all the drama and details that went into it. I’ve been waiting for Marlon Brando to appear and now we’ve got him!
The Marlon Brando casting of course is a fact! Some of the details on how it went down were of course dramatized. Marlon Brando, played by Justin Chambers, really did do the transformation from blonde hair to shoe polish black and the cotton balls and everything. Brando though did this for Francis Ford Coppola and a small film crew. Al Ruddy, Bettye, and Mario Puzo were not there. Brando really did have to do a screen test as a condition of his casting.
The Al Pacino casting did in fact happen like that! Bob Evans was against it, but Francis Ford Coppola wanted Pacino. There is some conflicting stories of whether Coppola really wanted James Caan for Sonny or not. It’s said he really did cast someone else who was over 6 ft tall and they all thought his height wouldn’t work with Pacino, but Coppola has said that he always wanted Caan for Sonny.

Joe Colombo shaking down the house owner is in fact fiction! It’s a dramatization for the show. Al Ruddy was not forced to watch one of Colombo’s guys scare the pee pee out of the Staten Island house owner. The Godfather did lose a bunch of properties when Colombo and the Italian American League did not back the film, but once they did they secured their locations.
The Offer Episode 4 breaks down fact vs fiction! This is such an amazing show. Share with us your thoughts so far and check out our quick review.
