If you are sharing a home around that size with a romantic partner and one child or family member, that means you have an extra bedroom to convert into a gym. Even with two children filling up your bedrooms, you likely have space in your home for an exercise area.

If you are already using your additional room as a bedroom, guest room, or office, then explore other options. What space is empty or occupied with “junk” and trinkets? Join their ranks and establish a new exercise routine by learning how to kayak and/or canoe. Canoeing and kayaking buoy cardiovascular health and increase arm, leg, back, shoulder, and torso strength. In other words, it is a full-body workout, requiring you to use all of the main muscle groups. Plus, you get to explore your area from the water, something most of us never get to do.

4. Start a Garden or Container Garden

That is amazing! Grow fresh fruits and vegetables in your garden to work on eating a healthy diet, too. The best part is that the fruits of your workout will produce beautiful flowers and foods. If you do not have the space for a traditional garden, then start a container garden instead. Small gardens might not burn as many calories to tend, but they still produce wonderful results.

5. Discover a Family-Friendly Gym Complex

When it comes to bettering your health and exercising regularly, child care can also be a challenge. It may be difficult to set aside time for working out and it can be especially difficult to do it with children. They often get in the way at home, or want to join you. That is where family-friend gyms come in. Find a family-friendly gym in your area by doing a simple Google or voice search on your smartphone.
