Tick Tick Boom review is here and it’s not just for musical theater lovers. Of course musical theater lovers will love this, but the film is inspiring, sad, and a great portrait of an artist gone too soon.
Tick Tick Boom is not just for musical theater lovers. I love musicals and I saw this one in Boston years ago with Joey McIntyre as Jonathan Larson. It’s truly an inspirational story. Make sure you check out our full Tick Tick Boom review!
Andrew Garfield is really good. I know he’s done theater and all that, but a musical is its own beast. Garfield embodies Larson and does a great job singing and dancing. The neurosis of Larson fly off the screen. As anyone who’s created art knows it’s such a process, it can heartbreaking, and it’s hard even when you’re really talented.

Jonathan Larson’s story ends tragically, but it’s so inspiring because of his work, all of the people he inspired (like Lin-Manuel Miranda), and how he changed Broadway after his death. They really paid homage to him and his lasting legacy.
There are also so many fabulous cameos! Judith Light, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Stephen Sondheim, and so many other Broadway icons!
