Sing Sing Movie Is Passionately Authentic
Real and raw and passionately authentic. Sing Sing movie is both beautiful and terrifying, because the pure emotions of prison are unavoidable. A true story colored to perfection.
Sing Sing is sad and uplifting and passionate and raw and deeply touching. The authenticity from the real actors, as well as the real prisoners who became actors through the real life theater program at the Sing Sing prison, is outstanding. Theater is their escape and a means to rehabilitate, but in the end they are still trapped and imprisoned. There is no escaping this truth in Sing Sing.

The acting is outstanding, from both the actors and the prisoners who trained in acting while in prison. There is nothing silly about this journey, especially the truth laid bare by the utter reality of imprisonment. We never know why someone ended up behind bars, but that’s the point. They deserve an opportunity to change and become someone better. Life is hard enough as it is.
