Nine Perfect Stranger Season 1 Episode 1-3 gives me major The White Lotus vibes in terms of themes and an overall vibe. The first three episode dropped so much information about the 12 characters introduced who are the 9 guest and the three major staff members. There is so much TMI with bold intensity. They all share major grief and trauma, which is what appears to have brought them all together. Make sure you watch our full video reaction.
There are a lot of moving parts in the first three episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers. Not only do we go in depth on The Marconi’s, as well as Frances and Tony and what has gone wrong in their lives. We get tidbits of details about Jessica and Ben’s relationship. Hello Ben, the lottery winner. Carmel spilled the tea of being a divorcee as well as having some major rage issues. Lars, obviously a journalist of sorts trying to get the details on this wellness center, quietly dealing with a breakup with his boyfriend.

Masha, besides Frances, The Marconi’s and reluctantly Tony, lays out past trauma pretty concisely. She was a bad person, died, and now she rebirth herself into this spiritual being to help others transform from their old self to their new self. Yao saved Masha’s life and there is definitely something sexual going on with them, but he’s also with Delilah who’s questioning all of Masha’s moves. Delilah has her own secrets and from her interaction with Heather I feel like she might have lost her own child too.

Masha’s definitely holding back on her process of how’s she’s helping this group of 9 people. She could very well be drugging them. We know she gave Tony placebo’s to try to detox him of his drug addiction. If anything she could be dosing their smoothies every morning with a natural hallucinogenic, something to blur their reality and open themselves up to release their grief and trauma.
Nine Perfect Strangers Season 1 brings all these people together through their trauma and grief. After the first 3 episodes we’re still left to question whether Masha is good or bad.
