Killers of the Flower Moon | Broken Promises

Posted on

A captivating conclusion wasn’t enough to save Killers of the Flower Moon from its broken promises. Senseless violence controls the film, despite its best efforts.

One broken promise after another from Killers of the Flower Moon. I love the beginning and love the ending, but our lead character is sick for those 2.5 hours in the middle. Mollie is incredible, but its not enough to overshadow every other ugly, evil, kill happy person in this film.

There’s no denying how awful and incredible this true story is, and there’s no denying that Killers of the Flower Moon embodies the reality quite well. But this is a movie, so when the only person you’re rooting for is sick in bed for what seems like forever, the evil that runs amuck becomes overwhelming. Perhaps that was the point, but many won’t make it through and that’s too bad. The ending is wonderful.

Watch: Review of Killers of the Flower Moon

With great acting, beautiful shots, and a captivating story, there is every reason to love this film. Yet one thing stands in the way. We know evil is winning and keeps on winning over and over again. Ultimately it becomes too much, even if some form of justice was had in the end.
