Recently I read a yahoo article 5 reasons why A Christmas Story is actually a terrible Christmas movie. I definitely was intrigued by the title because I couldn’t imagine how anyone could think that. After reading the article I came to the conclusion that this woman does not like Christmas movies and frankly might not even like movies.

I’ve refuted each of her reasons with my own 5 reasons why a Christmas Story is awesome! Its becoming more evident recently that many people look at older films and music with the lens of today. This is ridiculous because this film was made in a different time and about an even more different time.

In the end this film is about the strong memory and happiness that this one Christmas gave this little boy. It was the Christmas him and his father bonded over a gift he wanted. He finally saw his mother for the unsung hero she is. Not to mention he had an amazing Christmas with his family even if it wasn’t the Christmas they all planned!
