Running with Gratitude: My Running Diary

It’s easy to just put yourself on auto pilot and run, especially when you’ve made running a daily habit. While its great to instinctively get out of bed and run, make sure you’re always running with gratitude!

Diary of a Running Chick: September 19th, 2016

I absolutely love running with gratitude. Let’s face it, so many people don’t run or can’t run at all. I truly believe that we’re all made to run, so I make sure I’m always grateful that I can! Earlier this year I injured my foot hiking. I rolled it and didn’t even realize I hurt it so bad until it was too late. I was so bummed that I couldn’t run! It was only for a week, but I still felt a bit lost without running.

After that experience I always make sure I’m grateful for my run every morning! I love just getting outside and taking in the fresh air each new day. This is something I value and its important for me to run and to fully enjoy it. But its equally as important that I never take it for granted!

That’s a big thing for me, not taking my running for granted. I love to run and if I couldn’t run I’d be devastated. Therefore I always make sure that at the beginning and the end of my runs I’m present, aware and happy to be out there running. I always thank the Universe for letting me go out and run that day. No matter how far I run and how long it takes me, I’m always thankful for being able to just go out there and run!

I’ve talked about it before, just getting out and running no matter what. I truly believe in that. If you can get in the mindset of doing that and being grateful for every day that you run, you’ll definitely see yourself flourish!

Running with gratitude is keeping a positive mindset no matter what. I’ve heard a lot of runners talk about ugly runs, but they went out there and ran anyway. That’s great! No run is ugly! Why put a negative spin on your run? You got out there and ran! Be grateful and proud of that. It doesn’t matter how far, how fast, or how you felt. If you continue to be grateful for your runs, they’re all going to feel wonderful!

That’s a main goal of mine, to eliminate doubt and negativity. No matter what is going on in my life, none of it matters. If I can go out and run every morning, then my day is already great! I’ve already accomplished a daily goal and I’m grateful for having that daily goal to accomplish!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, running every morning makes me feel great. It gives me time for myself and it gives me an accomplishment. I’m grateful for that. I’m grateful for it every morning! It sets my days up for success! I love that and highly recommend running with gratitude!
