The Instigators Movie Is Wildly Silly

Posted on

Imagine the perfectly elaborate crime, but you hire two doofuses who manage to steal nothing and still get caught! The Instigators movie is all of that and more.

It’s the exact opposite of Bourne Identity Matt Damon, but oh so good in its own right! The Instigators is wildly silly and on the nose, yet so much fun and truly weird and hilarious. An elaborate crime ends with practically nothing being stolen, but prison, yet they get out because of course they do! Everything just kind of works out for our anti heroes and its awesome.

What would you do to see your son and help him rent hockey equipment? One down on his luck father and a stereotypical Boston alcoholic criminal team up for an insanely elaborate heist. They succeed, but steal nothing, get caught, but manage to walk away unharmed. The Instigators is a wild ride full of laughter and unnecessarily large explosions!

If you’ve never gone on a heist before, then I suppose it makes sense to take notes. Matt Damon’s character follows his notes to the letter, but then has no clue what to do when his notes run out. Aim gun. Threaten person. Then what? He has no clue!

Its super fun to see two people completely unprepared and in over their heads, and its even better when they unwittingly succeed. The Instigators nails this perfectly, in quintessential Boston style. Keep your comments coming and then check out our video on The Instigators movie.
