Let’s face it, remakes are everywhere, but thankfully some are amazing. These are the five best horror movie remakes of all time, remakes that truly give their originals a run for their money!
We love, love, love horror movies and can’t get enough of original ideas. That being said, it’s hard to find anything truly new and gosh darn it, the remakes are awesome and often better. Do love the very first iteration of “The Ring,” or its more recent re-imagining? It’s okay to love them both.

Some horror movie remakes transform a good idea into something amazing and absolutely fabulous. They give the originals a run for their money! In no particular order, these are my five favorite horror movie remakes.

The Ring (2002)
The American version of The Ring is absolutely frightening. It’s truly a fabulous movie and the first time I saw it I was so scared. It tops the original for sure!
Let Me In (2011)
The original is so amazing that I was skeptical with this remake, but it definitely is great. Let Me In is an interesting tale about a vampire in the best way possible, making it wonderful. This American version does the original justice and then some.
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
Up until this version of Dracula, the story of Dracula was always a bit cheesy! This movie is seriously creepy and nicely follows the book. I think this is the best version of Dracula!
The Crazies (2010)
I love this remake better than the original, because it’s shot beautifully. Plus, I love films like this that show you what’s to come, then flash back to how you got there. Also, I’m a big fan of Timothy Olyphant and he is absolutely fabulous in this.
Fright Night (2011)
This remake is so good and while I thoroughly enjoyed the original, I love this one way more! Colin Farrell is so good. Anton Yelchin nails it. RIP to him. I always love a solid and good horror comedy movie!
