Re-sync Your Fitness Dedication

Summer is just around the corner and although people say abs are made in Winter, there’s still time to get at it this Spring. Re-sync your fitness dedication with my help and feel amazing all summer!

I’m always bummed when I don’t have as much time as I’d like to work out. I don’t feel like myself. I don’t sleep as well. But we all get tired and busy, especially during Winter, so don’t beat yourself up. Sometimes we just need to give our bodies a rest. Then we need to re-dedicate ourselves to exercise. Winter is over and your fitness goals are waiting to be accomplished.

The best part about Spring, Summer and Fall is that the weather is perfect for getting outside and staying active. Whether there’s a chill in the air or a warm breeze, nothing beats exercising outdoors. Its one of my greatest loves. It’s beautiful and refreshing. It also adds spice to my day. I love how calm it is outside in the morning and how great I feel. If you live in Los Angeles or another big city like me, you know how rare the quiet actually is. You’re all by yourself in the city. I love that!

Even if you didn’t take time off from exercise, Spring is still the perfect time to re-sync your fitness dedication and tread new ground. Sometimes it’s good to just switch up your workouts. Plus, I always find myself a little slow after Daylight Saving Time starts. I re-sync and take the time necessary to get back to jumping out of bed in the mornings to workout. A solid way to switch up your fitness is by changing your running routes. I try to do this at least once a month, because when I’m tired I find myself just running on autopilot! That’s definitely no good and what re-syncing is all about.

A good way to get out of auto-pilot is to switch up your exercise routine, but that doesn’t mean its easy. Changing my running route is definitely hard for me. I like to know how far and how long a run is going to take me. I’m always hesitant to try a new route by myself, so if you’re like me then you need a buddy. My man and I run together on the weekends and that’s when we switch things up. Yet part of my personal re-syncing is getting out of that mode and changing on my own. To keep myself focused on fitness and get stronger, I’m going to switch it up and work on being independent.

Finding your dedication doesn’t mean you have to do something completely new. I have several running routes that I often avoid because they’re a bit longer than my ‘normal’ routine. Yet it always makes me feel great to accomplish them. If I’m able to push myself to wake up early, I love running these longer runs. I have way more energy and I sleep great that next night. So take on the challenge, the one you often avoid. Find your love for fitness all over again.

Whatever workouts you love, there are many different ways to refocus your dedication. I’m always a fan of trying a new workout class, hitting up the gym more frequently, or adding in some extra outdoor activities. Now that its Spring, there are so many more things we can do. Changing your habits will keep you motivated and keep you moving all summer.

No matter what your fitness level, it’s always good to check in with yourself and make sure that you’re focused and keeping up your healthy habits. Use this time to set a new goal too! Re-sync your dedication to fitness kids!
