Souls are being stolen in His Dark Materials Season 2 and I don’t believe in coincidence. Are they becoming the daemon’s of Lyra’s world? Your Episode 1 reaction and more.
As if this show wasn’t already mysterious, His Dark Materials Season 2 kicked off with a huge soul mystery. I have not read the books, so I’m making legitimate predictions. When we discovered that world 3 (with the city in the sky) has specters that steal adult souls, I immediately thought those souls were being stolen for world 1 (Lyra’s world) or world 2 (Will’s world). There is too much coincidence between the daemon soul locking in at puberty in world 1 and the soul getting stolen at the same time of life in world 3. Not only is there this weird soul mystery, but the specters look like traveling witches and Will’s dad is likely the mastermind of this evil. His dad is evil, just like Lyra’s parents are evil. Marisa unofficially took over the Magisterium and a war erupted with the witches. Plus there’s a magic weapon that can slice the fabric of space. His Dark Materials season 2 is the perfect mind trip.

The great thing about His Dark Materials is that its not abiding by traditional rules. Season one pulled from every book in the series, not just the first. That means season two will be full of even more surprises! I have not read a page of this series, so my reactions are genuine.
