My top 5 Xmas Songs!

The Christmas Season is fully in swing and I’ve been jamming out, getting my fill of all my favorite Christmas music! There are so many great songs with only one month a year to indulge in all the glorious music. Then we have to wait until next year all over again! I’ve built up quite the Christmas collection over the years and today I’m lifting the veil. I’m sharing with you my top five favorite Christmas songs!

It’s super hard to put a list together of only five Christmas classics because, let’s face it; there are so many awesome versions of these holiday favorites.  But someone’s got to do it and I’m just your woman! The first song on my list, in at number five, is a no brainer. It just has to be there: It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas by Johnny Mathis.  This song always gets me into the holiday spirit.  Take a listen.  The song has been in so many classic films and it’s definitely one of my go to holiday favorites!

I’m going to give you another oldie, but goodie, for number four of my favorite Christmas songs. It’s Andy Williams’ one and only Happy HolidaysTake a listen!  Oh yeah! Now we’re really rocking out to those holiday favorites.  I love this one! It’s both a great song and such a classic.  All I want to do is sing along and decorate my Christmas tree.

Moving on to number three; I can’t remember a Christmas where I didn’t blast as loud as possible my third favorite Christmas Song.    I’ve listened to it over and over and over and over again.  I sang and danced around to it in my bedroom every single year growing up and still might.  It’s Wham’s Last Christmas.  Check out the amazing music video from 1984 here! Oh man, this song completely gets me into the holiday spirit.  Yes I know it’s about a breakup, but it doesn’t matter.  I absolutely love it and it’s a classic! It’s almost thirty years old too. Damn!

Woah people.  This is such a hard list! There are so many other songs I’d have loved to put on here, but I couldn’t leave off our number two song.  It rivals our favorite at number one, but falls just short! It’s Gloria Estefan’s Let it Snow.  Listen here! Did you dance around and sing like me to this song?  Don’t lie, of course you did! It’s so catchy and wonderful! The orchestra really brings it together and it’s by far my favorite rendition of Let it Snow.

I really don’t want this list to come to an end! Prior to my number one song, I need to give you guys an honorable mention.  I really wanted this song to be on my list! It’s definitely one of my top ten favorite Christmas songs.  It’s The Carpenters Merry Christmas, Darling. Check out the music video here! I love this song so much!  I can’t help but sing along to it. See a theme here, this girl likes to sing. It’s really such a beautiful Christmas song!

Okay back to my list…my number one song…drum roll please…Mariah Carey’s All I want for Christmas is you! Those of you that know me could have guessed this one. It’s my number one favorite Christmas song of all time with little competition.  Check out the classic video here! Not only did I get the Christmas Album for Christmas back in 1994, I break this holiday classic out EVERY YEAR! I’ve listened to it over and over and over and over again and never get sick of it.  I used to dance around my room singing this song for hours.  Heck, I still belt out this song while I’m driving or listening to it at home.  Not only is this song awesome, but the video was great too! Remember the Pop-Up Video for it?  So good!  Mariah’s whole Christmas Album is wonderful and this song tops it off. Love!

I love too many Christmas songs to count and this list was just a sampling! I’ll let you in on a little secret. It was so hard for me to choose my top five! Every Christmas song holds a special place in me and there are so many more that I wish I could have shared. Hopefully these five got you into the holiday spirit! Listen, dance, and sing! Happy Holidays!

What a great dive into Christmas music! I love it all! I especially love Mariah Carey’s version of a classic song… a couple of years ago, a British Warship named, HMS OCEAN, returning from an extended deployment made a Youtube video that was simply INCREDIBLE! I haven’t been able to get enough of Ms. Carey’s song since-

But, here’s a little secret… every afternoon I take a little power nap, and do you know what my naptime music is, all year ’round? Yep, you guessed it; Christmas Carols!

    Merry Christmas, Ms. Mandi!
