Joaquin Phoenix plays troubled really well especially when he was younger, that’s why To Die For made our list. I love him in this film. I always loved him growing up and when I watched Gladiator I hated his character. That is of course a testament to how great an actor he is.
He is absolutely fabulous in Signs! I loved this movie first and saw it multiple times in the theater. He has great chemistry with Mel Gibson and the kids in the film. Then we have him do the film Her. He plays quirky, depressed, and tragic so well. I love films like this where one actor carries the whole film.
