The West Wing Revisited S1E9 is all about the righteous choice. Our White House crew make history with their Supreme court nominee. Of course there is drama, conflict, and in the end the righteous choice. This episode hammers home that righteous theme.
BEWARE OF SPOILERS
The West Wing Revisited S1E9 is all about the righteous choice. It is of course historic when an administration picks a Supreme Court Justice. The opportunity arises and now the conflict begins of course. Will the President choose Harrison, the man everyone thinks he will. Or will he choose Mendoza. A more radical choice for the times.
The West Wing S1E9 Reaction

I like how in the beginning of the show they will choose Harrison. A man who’s father was in politics and checks all the right boxes to be a Supreme Court Justice. The Justice who’s stepping down, does not like the President, but hopes that he’ll choose another man named Mendoza. Of course the President assures him they have not decided.

The conflict of who they will choose, even though initially it is basically a done deal, consists of the majority of the drama. They do find out that Harrison wrote an anonymous paper about people’s right to privacy and a bit of a not good view of it and the constitution. Sam, being another righteous man to the President, points out that privacy will be a main issue in the next 20 years with the growing internet.
I like how they foresaw the right to our privacy and the internet. That’s interesting for a show that start in 99. Of course in the end, the righteous choice is Mendoza. He is the future of the Supreme Court.
This show hammers home every episode that these men and woman are good and they make good choices with the American people in mind. What are your thoughts on S1E9. Make sure you watch my reaction video.
