Blackmail and BACK STABBING are all part of the “plan” according to Gaal’s Prime Radiant. Sure its the greater good, but tricking Empire into ending itself was devilish. Now Demerzel, the only other known eternal being, must choose between humanity and Empire. Foundation season 3 promised us a war, but it might all be in Gaal’s head.

Sideshows abound like the Foundation civil war and the fall of Empire, but ultimately only one thing matters. Saving humanity from extinction, which will of course require humanity to unite. The robots nearly destroyed themselves, but saving your maker is the ultimate transcendence. I would expect nothing less from Foundation.
