The politics are twisted and the holy war shenanigans are even worse. Dune Part Two is excellent, but my mind is mud trying to follow its logic.
Everything about Dune Part Two is twisted and weird and perfectly on the nose, but its excellent. The dark and cryptic combination of politics and religion are nearly too much to handle, yet its all just mind games. Having only seen the 80’s movie and not yet read the book, its safe to say I’m like a worm in the sand.

The Dune trilogy enters uncharted territory for me, because the first movie, along with Dune Part Two, took us through the end of the 80’s film. My knowledge ends there, so now I’m playing catch up. That story has now been infused with an unparalleled level of backstory and detail that I never imagined. Do we even know who exactly rules the empire, because it doesn’t feel like it. With a holy war incoming, I truly can’t say if anyone will win this absurd conflict.
Watch: Dune Part Two Review
Everyone touts the book as wildly twisted in plot and execution. It’s borderline convoluted at times, yet the movie touches on this brilliantly. A dab of politics here and a dose of religious zealot there, then mix it all together in a gladiator’s battle to the death and woah.

Dune Part Two is a very good movie and now I know just how much the 80’s film left out of the story, but what about this movie? How much did it pass over as well? Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long for part three, because I’m likely to forget what’s going on all over again. It does give me time to read the book, but that may confuse me further. Share with me your thoughts, then check out our video on Dune.
