The set up of this show is a then and now type thing. We don’t know how long this unfolds over, but it doesn’t feel like more than 6 months to a year max. It might even be shorter. Joy and Sam Delaney recently retired and definitely both feeling lost. They let it strain their relationship.

In walks Savannah who fills a void for their children, who are rightfully so busy with their own lives and problems. Each of their 4 children have a secret that they aren’t 100% sharing with everyone. It’s of course expected that everyone suspects Sam as knowing where Joy is. He’s adamant that they got into a fight and she left.
Sam has a weird scratch on his face. His story is not convincing. Troy, Brooke, Logan, and Amy all think he knows more than he lets on. They also all admit Joy called them before she disappeared.
