Ever plot point in American Fiction was an absolute cliche, which was the point! Its a hilarious dive into all of our stereotypes about ourselves, society, and especially stories. The best part was how unexpected the sheer volume of cliches hit me. American Fiction is so much fun.

Is it truly a cliche if we all think its normal? The cliche has us fade to black at the end of American Fiction, but then the new wave cliche had us explore all possible endings like the shoot them up version! But then the cliche of the new wave cliche broke the fourth wall and found Monk making a movie about the story as the ultimate cliche. This is American Fiction in all of its glory.
