Vegan Pigs In A Blanket The Perfect Appetizer For Every Occasion

vegan pigs in a blanket

Vegan Pigs In A Blanket are the perfect appetizer and oh so delicious. They are super easy to make and I can’t believe I’ve been a vegetarian for years before making these. They are the absolute best plant based appetizer!

I’m a sucker for appetizers, so there’s literally nothing better than these vegan Pigs In A Blanket. They’re the absolute best and truly easy to make, which is kind of my thing. Because I stopped eating hot dogs way before I stopped eating all meat, I missed pigs in a blanket for a very long time. I’m not sure why I missed this recipe, but now I have it and thank goodness. These are the absolute best plant based appetizer!

This is a two ingredient recipe, because all you need is a package of plant based hot dogs and a package of crescent rolls. I added Everything Bagel seasoning on top for the perfect blend of flavor, as well as used mustard for dipping. You can even teach your kids how to make these. My daughter helped me with this recipe and my own mom taught me how to make the classic version when I was young.

Preparation:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut up your plant based hot dogs into one inch pieces and set them aside.
  3. Unroll your crescent rolls and cut them into thin slices. Don’t make them too thick, because they really puff up in the oven.
  4. Spray your baking sheet with olive oil spray, or line it with parchment paper.
  5. Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog piece and place them onto the baking sheet. Make sure you space them out, since the dough expands. You may need two baking sheets.
  6. Spray the vegan pigs in a blanket with your olive oil spray and top them with Everything Bagel seasoning, or another seasoning of your choosing.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is just puffy and slightly browning on top.
  8. Remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  9. Serve with mustard or whatever dipping sauce fits your fancy!
