The Hunt movie is finally here! It raised a lot of controversy last year, which led to Universal Pictures shelving the movie! This was in the wake of all those mass shootings, so I totally understand pushing the film. That being said, I don’t agree with people who say movies make us do bad things. That is just an excuse, but that’s not what my video is about! This is a movie preview of a truly misunderstood horror film. Check out our full The Hunt Movie preview!

What is the The Hunt all about? It’s a satire about a group of liberal elites who hunt “deplorables,” basically vocal conservatives with opposite views. From the trailer, we’re left to question whether this is really happening or not. Its based on the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” and is co-written by Damon Lindelof and directed by Craig Zobel. It’s also produced by Blumhouse. Overall it looks like a wild trip with tons of blood.
Is The Hunt movie actually controversial, or simply misunderstood? President Trump tweeting about the film completely blew up the conversation. He called liberal Hollywood a group of elite “racists” and said the film would “inflame and cause chaos.” Bare in mind, he’s never seen the film and is just going off of the premise. Considering its a satire, the premise is not actually what the movie is about.
Obviously, President Trump reacted to the fact that this movie calls vocal conservatives “deplorables” and that it paints liberal elites as taking out the trash. Yet when it comes to “horror” movies, the hunted are normally our heroes. The hunted are fighting for their lives, put into extremely awful circumstances against people who are morally wrong. This makes the conservatives our heroes in this movie. Won’t we root for the woman who’s fighting back against the people who captured her and are now hunting her? I will!

This film has a really amazing cast too. It includes Hilary Swank, Betty Glipin, Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, Glenn Howerton and Ike Barinholtz. The movie is loaded with satire and ridiculous scenes! Its also loaded with violence, but that’s part of this style genre.
The Hunt movie opens Friday and I’m super intrigued to see what the reception of the film will be and if it’s just been totally hyped. In my opinion, I do not think it’s controversial, but more misunderstood. Make sure you check out our full preview and let us know what you think!
