Snowpiercer season 1 starts right in the thick of the conflict. We meet our tail section leader Layton and find out that the tails were stowaways on Snowpiercer. Layton is the last detective on earth and there has been a murder and he finds out there was the same style murder years before and they locked up the wrong person for the murder. We also meet Melanie the voice of the train.

Basically the whole first part of the season lays the groundwork for the second half. We see the divide between the tailies and the rest of the train. We meet Josie, Miles, and Layton, our main tailies. Even while Layton solves the murder, he’s casing the train, learning as much as he can, and putting together his own efforts for his revolution.

As Layton solves the murder and meets more people on the train like the Janitors who are drug running, reconnects with his ex and fathers her child, as makes even more contacts throughout the train who agree with him on the dissent. He figures out that there is no Mr. Wilford on the train and Melanie has deceived everyone.

Layton finds out that the killer is none other than Eric, the Folgers (the richest people on the train) bodyguard, and their daughter LJ, who claims Eric took advantage of her, but she’s really just a spoiled brat. This leads to even more dissent between 1st class and third class as well as a prime moment for the tailies to gain an ally with 3rd class.

Like I said, the whole first half leads up to the second half revolution as well as joining together of the train! So much more happens in this season and it leads to a big reveal at the end that Mr. Wilford is not in fact dead, but has been biding his time to take over the train by using the supply train. We do not know where him and his other train have been hiding these past 7 years. Make sure you watch our full Snowpiercer Season 1 cliff notes to get the full gambit of what happened!
