Re-evaluate Your Fitness Goals

September is here kids, and it’s time to re-evaluate your fitness goals. Once the fall hits, the rest of the year is sure to fly by, so now is the perfect time to jump-start your fitness and make sure you have your goals mapped out for the rest of the year. Finish strong!

The best way to re-evaluate your fitness goals is to be completely honest with yourself. That’s right, you have to tell the truth. If you let your workouts go this summer because you were too busy frolicking with your friends, or hitting up the beach, no worries kids. Embrace the fun that you had, but commit to getting back on track. Now is the perfect time to start achieving, in order to reach your fitness goals by year’s end.

For a long time all of my fitness goals were about running. I wanted to run every day of the week. Mission accomplished. I wanted to have the stamina to simply go for a run, no matter what. Mission accomplished. I love to run and now have amazing stamina. My running mission is accomplished! Time to re-evaluate.

Put your goals first this fall

I now have a new mission, a new fitness goal for the fall. I want to get super toned, from head to toe. My legs are toned, and I definitely look like I work out, but I want amazing toned arms and core. I want them ripped in that sexy lady way, not that big muscle way. That’s now my primary fitness goal. It was one of my fitness goals all year, but hit the back burner along the way. No more kids!

To meet my goal I created a lifting plan, and I need to stick to it. When it comes to running, yoga, and 30 day challenges I kill it, but my strength training workouts are often the first thing to go when I get busy. Starting this fall I’m holding myself accountable and making strength training a priority. My goal is to lift twice a week, at a minimum, to get myself to where I want to be and reach my goal.

Make yourself proud

If your goal is like mine, or even something completely different, we need to remember to be completely honest and realistic with ourselves. I know I can handle the extreme, and I’ve been contemplating going to such measures to ensure I reach my fitness goal. I’m talking the ‘Insanity Workout’ kids. That’s right, I’m curious about this workout. I’ve heard some pretty amazing things and a part of me wonders how my body would change, and how fast I’d reach my fitness goals with this workout. It would completely change how I work out, which I’m super strict about, but change can be a great thing, especially with exercise.

By the end of the year I’ll be crossing this fitness goal off my list. Join me by setting aside an old goal and devoting yourself to one you keep missing. Focus and achieve it with me in 2015. Finish strong!
