With product names like Sexy Mother Pucker and Make Yourself Youthful, Soap & Glory has quickly become one of the UK’s most well-known (and most-liked) lines of beauty products. Supporting the “Clean of England” since 2006, the cheeky brand started when suds-loving founder Marcia Kilgore used her cosmetic chemistry savvy to create fun, fearless, and fantastically formulated bath, beauty, and body products. But what really gets peoples attention is their vintage inspired ads and packaging. Featuring black and white photos of 1950’s inspired pretty pinups, they embody the “girl next door” pin up look. It absolutely makes you think of 1950’s soap adverts. The girls really catch your attention and you get the feeling of “clean and wholesome” even before you use the product. While most companies are turning to modern looks, science, or the “natural” look in their products, Soap and Glory is a nice, pretty, change of pace.
