Mad Queen Arrives! It’s our Game of Thrones Season 8 Ep 5 Reaction. I didn’t want it to happen, but it of course did.

 

SPOILERS. Read only if you’re all caught up on Game Of Thrones.

Mad Queen arrives in the highly criticized 5th episode of Game of Thrones season 8. I’ll start by saying I’m on this ride of Game of Thrones and I decided before the season that whatever they throw at us that it is what it is.

They definitely set up Dany and turning into the Mad Queen. I definitely think it could have been expanded out and it feels rushed, but it is what it is. I would have liked differently for Dany since she basically turned into the one thing she repeatedly said she wasn’t going to turn in to. There is some irony as well as destiny at work there though.

Let’s not forget there was the scene that Bran saw back in season 5 of a destroyed Kings Landing throne room. That being said some may say that this has always been Dany’s path and all of us were hoping for a nice happy ending. Maybe Varys was right and you can flip a coin when a Targaryan is born.

R.I.P. Varys. I had a love/hate relationship with him. He was completely right about Daenerys and honestly Dany didn’t listen to him. Even though let’s not forget she asked him to be honest with her if she was acting crazy, but she did not listen to him!

So many people died in this episode! The Hound and the Mountain battled! It was glorious and ended exactly how we thought it would. The Hound and Arya had a nice moment.
