I love Granola for breakfast, combined with fresh fruit like blueberries, and Greek yogurt. My healthy homemade granola recipe cuts the sugar and ups the flavor for a filling and delicious morning meal.
Lately I’ve become concerned with how much sugar is in store bought granola. It contains an awful lot, and granola is so tasty on its own. So I decided to make my own homemade granola with less sugar, more of the nuts and dried fruit I love, and a ton of flavor. Feel free to mix and match with the nuts and fruit, creating the perfect healthy granola for you.
Homemade Granola
Ingredients:
2 cups regular oats, not quick
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup dried cranberries
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons healthy oil (I use olive oil)
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of sea salt

Directions:
Preheat oven 300 degrees F.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, tossing until thoroughly combined.
Place in shallow baking pan and bake for 10 minutes.
Cool before storing in an airtight container. I like to store mine in the refrigerator to maximize freshness.
You can easily change up this recipe by adding an assortment of nuts and seeds, or by using other dried fruits. If you like cinnamon, add a tablespoon for additional flavor. A dash of nutmeg is great too.
Enjoy!
