Forget what you thought of Foundation season 1, because its been vaporized! So has Empire, as Brother Dusk met his maker and the entire empire collapsed. Our foundation pre-existed, but the vault is completely misunderstood. My episode 3 reaction and more.
We witnessed the literal vaporization of Brother Dusk and Empire evolved, but also the vaporization of our entire notion of this show! Foundation season 1 is not about building a foundation of knowledge for humanity, but protecting the foundation that already exists, built but some other generation of humans in the last great reset. The vault can only be approached by Salvor. Knowledge itself is a weapon, but the vault’s secrets are likely more powerful than anyone can imagine.
Salvor is definitely Gaal’s daughter and Hari’s math was right. It had no end because time is a layered loop of what has happened and what will. Terminus is home to the foundation. With the empire falling, who will fight to save humanity? Salvor of course, but how will she do it? Foundation season 1 is smarter and stranger than I ever imagined.

I may have to do some reading, because I’m loving Foundation season 1 and its based upon one of the most acclaimed science fiction series of all time. Isaac Asimov’s Foundation began as a trilogy, but became even more books in the end. After the robot wars, Empire took control. Now the power is crumbling, war is erupting, and humanity is dangerously close to annihilation. Only one scientist sees a means to preserve our knowledge, with a foundation.
