This is how you do science fiction, with a crazy story based on unproven reality and stuck inside the life of a bored matriarch. Everything Everywhere All At Once is a splendid Oscars 2023 worthy film.

 

A splendid sci-fi spectacle! Everything Everywhere All At Once completely surprised me with a near perfect blend and transition from family drama into mind-bending science fiction. We all know that technically every possible outcome exists in one universe or another, but what if you could access those abilities by doing a completely outlandish and unexpectedly random thing? Break your ankle while scarfing ramen noodles and holding your breath. Now you know karate! This movie is brilliant and a true Oscars 2023 front runner.

One of the best parts of this film, is how we question the truth of what’s happening along with our heroine. Is any of this actually happening, or is she imagining it? Thankfully there is no question and what actually happens is crazy enough for three movies. Given all of this, the film works brilliantly. Everything Everywhere All At Once. An ideal title for a film that pulls off exactly this.
