Dune 2021 Film is a perfect adaption! Having seen the David Lynch version as well as read the novel, I knew what to expect from the story and hoped for the perfection of tone. Dune did not disappoint! It perfectly brought to life the world of Arrakis!

 

Dune 2021 film is a perfect adaption and I’m here for it! When I read about this latest Dune adaption, I decided it was time to read the book. I did then I watched the David Lynch version then waited for this new film to come out. There are other versions and continuations of the Dune series, but I haven’t seen those. One of the things I thought was a miss on David Lynch’s Dune is tone.

This Dune got the tone so right from the opening. It was a breath of fresh air and it sucked me right in from the start. This is part 1 of 2 and it is a long movie. Make sure you’ve got fresh eyes when you watch this film. The length shouldn’t be a deterrent.

The score of the film is amazing and done by Han Zimmer. It adds to the tone, the complexity, and depth to the film. It’s refreshing and it’s fun that they adapted it so well! It’s no surprise since it’s the guy who did Bladerunner 2049.

Timothée Chalamet is fabulous as Paul. The whole cast is stacked with amazing actors that are perfect additions to the film. I loved Oscar Issac as Duke Leto and the chemistry him and Paul had. The novel spends a lot of time on this father/son relationship. That was missing from David Lynch’s Dune.
