Apple Crisp is Better Than Pie and it’s Vegan!

apple crisp

Apple Crisp is everything you love about apple pie without that potentially burnt crust. Only the deliciously sweet center and it’s vegan! For some reason I always considered crisps an after thought in my dessert choices. Boy was I wrong, because apple crisp is all pie with no crust. It’s amazing!

If you constantly crave apple pie like me, but could care less about the often bland crust, then you need my baked apple crisp in your life! Now is the perfect time to embrace and experience a plethora of delicious desserts. Apple crisp gets it’s time to shine. I love pies and I always consider the fall/winter as prime pie season. Thanksgiving is like a pie holiday and I’m a pumpkin pie gal, but this apple crisp is a strong competitor to unseat pumpkin pie atop my dessert throne.

Often times, the best desserts are the easiest to prepare. This apple crisp is super easy and even more tasty. Even if you don’t like to bake or think you can’t, this recipe is one you definitely can make all by yourself. Peeling and cutting up your apples is the hardest step, so I know you’ll do just fine! I love recipes like this because the payoff is absolutely fabulous.

How do you choose your apple type for your crisp? Although I used red Gala apples because they are my daughter’s favorite, I do think green Granny Smith apples are absolutely amazing in this crisp. They have a tang that perfectly compliments the sweetness of this dessert. Since my daughter loves red apples, that is what we used and it made our dessert extra sweet in a good way!

Maybe bake two, so you have leftovers for yourself. Keep it warm or reheat it when you’re ready to eat. Definitely top your crisp with some ice cream (dairy or nondairy).
