Healthy Pumpkin Dessert Recipes (Okay Healthier)

Pumpkin dessert is my absolute favorite! Since I’m still on a low sugar regiment, I sought out the best healthy desserts that are lower in sugar. Embrace the pumpkin with these delicious pumpkin dessert recipes.

I’ve always loved muffins, but let’s face it, a lot of times muffins are just cupcakes without frosting. They are super sweet with way too much sugar. Since my No Added Sugar experiment, I’ve been all about baking with maple syrup, honey, or agave. They are all great alternatives to all that sugar.

I found these healthy pumpkin muffins on Cookie+Kate that I will be making ASAP! These muffins look DELICIOUS and they are simple. Just from the list of ingredients, they definitely aren’t bogged down with a lot of stuff in them either! Perfect if you’re looking for a healthier muffin like me.

A lot of the desserts I’ve made recently have been extremely simple. I found this two ingredient pumpkin cookie on Peanut Butter Fingers and it looks too simple not to try. All it requires is a can of pumpkin puree and a box of spice cake. That’s it kids! Combine them together and bake it. I love this because it’s so simple. There’s no eggs and no milk, so if you have vegan friends like me, they can totally indulge! I definitely need to try these cookies this season!

I used to be a protein bar fiend! I loved all the varieties and I loved the breakfast cereal bars. That was one big thing I gave up when I went no sugar for 30 days. I’m really picky now about which bars I’ll even think about buying, since most have over 10 grams of sugar per bar.

I discovered these baked ahead pumpkin protein breakfast bars on Popsugar and can not wait to try them. This recipe is amazing because all you need to do is combine the ingredients in stages, then bake these bad boys. The best part is, each bar is only 144 calories! That’s great. I’d pack one of these with me on my daily travels and have a little sweet, but not too sweet, afternoon snack. Yum!

Sometimes it’s nice to also have a grain free, as well as low sugar, option. These vegan chocolate chip pumpkin cookies from PopSugar fit that build perfectly. Only 95 calories per cookie, which is GREAT! You won’t feel guilty at all about eating these cookies and they’re going to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Like all these recipes, these pumpkin cookies are easy and quick to make! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good complex baking recipe that shows your true culinary skills, but it’s also nice to just make an easy recipe!

When you’re on the low sugar lifestyle, its easy to think that you can’t have any desserts, or you can’t make desserts. Don’t be silly! I’ve found that the low sugar desserts I make still get a ton of compliments and only after I tell my guests that it’s much healthier and has way less added sugar, do people comment on how they wouldn’t have even realized unless I told them. I love that, because it truly means that the little sugar I put into my desserts goes a long way!

Time to enjoy pumpkin season kids! I need to make all of these recipes ASAP!
